Ocean County’s Top Choice for Commissioner: “Ready to Work for You.”

BRICK – Michael Thulen, Sr., candidate for Ocean County Commissioner today announced the release of “Work for You.” the second issue-focused ad in his campaign for Ocean County’s future.

During a preview with local supporters, Thulen thanked Ocean County’s Engineering Department for doing a great job overseeing the support of infrastructure throughout Ocean’s 33 municipalities.

Thulen went on to stress that “new jobs and clean industry require critical improvements”. He named the widening of Rt.9 through Lakewood, and reforming sidewalk financing to support local governments with straining budgets, as being among his top priorities.

Prepared statement of Michael Thulen, Sr.:

I am humbled by the support of voters who approve of my “Must Do” list for Ocean County’s future. An improving economy needs improved infrastructure, not only in Lakewood – the county’s economic engine – but throughout all of Ocean County.

Vitally important to my plan is widening of the southern stretch of Rt.9 through Lakewood where traffic, especially southbound, comes to a stand-still throughout the day. Other county roads require attention, and sidewalk installation projects are needed in many towns.

That a Rt. 9widening project hasn’t yet been put to the forefront is a shameful reflection of the current administration in Trenton, and I feel that sidewalk funding can be secured by the county rather than placing the financial burden on our many wonderful municipal communities whose budgets are straining from the effects of Covid.

This job needs attention and represents the type of work I will get done for you during my term as county commissioner.

The widening of Rt. 9 and similar improvement projects take years to develop. They require a commissioner who cares and has the experience to see them through.

My experience developing property in Ocean and Monmouth counties included development of a lot of roadway – I know which people in Trenton and the DOT to get in touch with to design the Rt. 9 expansion and other projects.

As a Brick Councilman, I helped guide the approval of Exit 89 on the Garden State Parkway and was involved in the two Rt. 70b left-turn extensions, improving traffic through Brick Township today.

As your next commissioner, I’ll Work for You and get Ocean County moving again!
